After last year’s success of hatching chicks at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home we were keen to repeat this magical experience this year, so Incredible Eggs supplied us with eight chick eggs and all of the equipment we would need.
Our residents and staff were very excited when the eggs arrived and eagerly awaited the arrival of the chicks.
When the moment finally arrived and our first two chicks hatched, the sheer joy and wonder on our residents’ faces was priceless. The chicks have brought us all hours of fun and our residents have loved having a cuddle with them and getting involved in every aspect of their care.
It’s amazing how animals bring such joy to our residents and our chicks have led to many laughs and conversations across the week.
We were all sad to see them return to the farm, but we are already planning our next batch of eggs to hatch in 2024!
