Last Friday we had a very busy day here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home.
Music Therapy
We started with a group session of our regular Music Therapy which, as always, went down a hit, as our residents listened to musical instruments and had a go themselves.
June’s jewellery
Whilst everyone was busy ‘jammin’, our lovely June was busy crafting beautiful jewellery pieces which she has a real talent for. She picks out gorgeous colours and her faithful assistant, Victoria from our Recreation and Well-Being Team, strings them together.
Our Manager John came out as an avid pocket watch wearer and asked June if she could make him a chain. June picked out a gorgeous combination of black and gold and then a Dimond for the centre – she even put a ‘J’ initial at the end of it for John. John was so made up with it and put it on straight away. What a wonderful gift.
Strictly ballroom!
After all this excitement it was time for some more! We had an impromptu ballroom dancing lesson from our incredibly talented Olga. She showed us all some amazing dances and then everyone started to join in. Before we knew it was a full blown dance party – just the way we like it!
