Our second Nellsar mini cruise location was Egypt at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home.
We started the day by getting our Home ready to sail, making our own bunting with Egyptian Flags. We learnt lots of interesting facts about Egypt; our favourite was that Cairo is over 1000 years old!
This conversation turned into reminiscing about places we had been; Joan told us some interesting stories about her time in Egypt and our residents began swapping stories about their travels – what a lovely way to reminisce.
For a bit of fun in the afternoon, we tried our hands at mummy making with rolls of toilet paper – the aim of the game being to make someone look as much like a mummy as possible. This was so simple but looked so effective and everyone was in hysterics!
It was such a fun activity and we all enjoyed our day in Egypt – onto the next cruise destination!
