Our lovely Doris celebrated her 85th birthday with us recently at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home.
We decorated our Home with banners and balloons for her special day and our residents and staff presented Doris with some presents and cards from everyone. She was so happy with her gifts and kept smiling and laughing, as we all erupted into a loud rendition of ‘Happy birthday’ for her.
Our Chef made Doris a stunning (and delicious!) birthday cake, which she kindly shared with all of our residents. 
When asked, Doris said that she would like to spend her special day with her best friend Maggie. We were very happy to arrange this and set up a special birthday afternoon tea for Doris and Maggie in our Forget-Me-Not Tearoom.
Doris had a wonderful day and we all felt honoured to celebrate with her.
