We were very busy at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home celebrating the Easter weekend with a range of different activities. For our residents who love arts and crafts, we had plenty to offer!
Our residents produced some stunning and colourful Easter pictures and decorations, plus beautiful Easter cards for their loved ones. Our craft table was full of every colour colouring pencil and pen, Easter stickers of every shape and colour and plenty of glitter!
Our ladies and gents also created our ‘Sonya Lodge Tree of Hope’. This was started by going out to the grounds of our local church to collect some sticks. Once this was done, our residents bound the sticks together to make a cross and then cut out some colourful card Easter eggs.
On the back of each egg they wrote what they were most grateful for or their favourite memory. It was such a privilege hear and see what our residents shared.
The eggs were then hung on the tree to complete our Tree of Hope – the perfect centrepiece for our Easter celebrations.
