It was Alice’s Day on Saturday 1 July and we love everything to do with Alice in Wonderland here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home, so we were very excited to celebrate this day together.
Our residents started the day by making Alice in Wonderland themed bunting. They then decorated one of the dining tables and surrounding area with their themed decorations.
Once the dining area looked the part, it was time to start our very own Alice In Wonderland Mad Hatters Tea Party. The residents sat together and enjoyed cups of tea and an array of cakes and biscuits. They also listened to exerts of the story and talked together about when they read the story to their families or watched the film.
It was a lovely day with plenty of laughs and good chats. We are already looking forward to our next themed afternoon tea party.
