As part of our routine here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home, every Tuesday afternoon Jean Hook conducts an in-house service.
Last Tuesday’s service was for Epiphany, also known as ‘Three Kings Day‘.
To mark this day, Jean brought in three different items to represent the three gifts that were brought to baby Jesus:
- Gold, represented as a box wrapped in shiny golden wrapping paper.
- Frankincense, represented by a frankincense incense stick.
- Myrrh, in the form of a beautiful wooden jar with cloves in it. The cloves tickled our residents’ senses!
- Jean always crafted a silver star.
As always, we all sang the beautifully picked hymns.
We always look forward to Tuesdays and we value them very much here at Sonya Lodge.
