We had a special treat last week here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home when we hosted our very own Tea Dance.
One of our residents, Beryl, used to be a professional latin and ballroom dancer and asked if we could host our own event. We were very happy to oblige! Beryl and our Resident Liaison Nikki took to the floor and taught our staff and residents how to dance the rhumba and waltz.
It was very special to see Beryl reminiscing about her days on the dancing circuit and coaching us all through the steps. We even discovered a few more residents with some hidden dancing talents!
After all of that dancing we needed some refreshments! Our Chef Steve provided everyone with some beautiful cupcakes and refreshing cold drinks. We also received a very generous donation of doughnuts for everyone from one of our resident’s family members.
It was a fantastic afternoon and one we are definitely planning on repeating soon!
