Enjoying Christmas presents together
Christmas is a time for giving and our Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home residents received many wonderful presents this year from their families, friends, and our Sonya Lodge Team.
They also received some special gifts from our local community. Dunelm in Dartford included our residents in their ‘Dunelm Delivering Joy’ initiative. Members of the local community went to Dunelm over the festive season and selected a person that they would like to buy a present for. They had the age and gender of the resident, and three things on their Christmas wish list. Our community was overwhelmingly generous and each of our residents received a bag of gifts containing some of their favourite items.
Sonya Lodge would like to send a huge thank you to everyone at Dunelm and our local community for their kindness and generosity that made Christmas even more magical!
Each of our residents spent some time in our Christmas grotto with our Activities Team and were filled with excitement as they opened their gifts.
Festive hamper raffle
We also had a Christmas raffle this year with fabulous hampers full of Christmas treats to win.
Our lovely Betty pulled out the tickets, and this year the hampers were won by staff and friends of Sonya Lodge. The raffle raised an impressive £177 for our Residents’ Fund.
