Last Monday was a busy day for our residents here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home.
We held a Pet Therapy session in the morning when Deanne’s daughter brought in her fluffy Syrian hamster for us to cuddle. He’s a very soft, tame fella and our residents loved him!
Straight on to the afternoon was our kick off to ‘Nellsarvision‘ and it went with a bang! We welcomed an amazing singer who performed a whole medley of songs for us and everyone was dancing. We decked out our lounge with Eurovision themed bunting and red, white and blue balloons – and of course we had some dressing up with wigs, flower necklaces and sailor caps!
To finish the singing, we all sang along to ‘Sweet Caroline‘, it’s become a real British tradition!
After all the singing and dancing we had all worked up an appetite, so we enjoyed some lovely blue frosted cupcakes to tide us over until tea time. This was a good practice run for our competition entry next month!
