Here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home we love to celebrate culturally diverse events, and we enjoy learning about and experiencing new things – and this weekend was Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon!
We adorned our dining area with a vibrant dragon and spent the morning fact-finding about the ‘Year of the Dragon’ and then finding out which of our residents were born in that year.
Next, a shopping trip! We headed out to the shops to pick up some delicious Chinese foods. Our residents enjoyed tempura prawns, prawn crackers, spring rolls, sesame seeded prawn toast and more! This was so delicious and went down a treat with all our ladies and gents.
We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year together!
