With the arrival of spring, we thought it was time to put our green-fingered residents to work at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home!
Whilst out on a shopping trip, some of our residents picked up a selection of seeds including coriander, lemon balm and sunflowers to create some beautiful plants.
Two of our residents, Angela and George, are keen gardeners and were excited to get stuck in with this activity. They quickly realised that Victoria from our Activities Team still had some things to learn!
Angela and George loved showing Victoria how to plant the seeds. This activity was not only a lot of fun, but was a brilliant way to create fantastic reminiscence opportunities – Angela and George shared many stories and happy memories of their years of gardening together.
We can’t wait to see our seedlings grow into beautiful plants to brighten up our Home.
