We celebrated St. David’s Day in style at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home, on Tuesday 1 March. We received a very generous donation of Welsh decorations and food from our Resident Liaison’s family in South Wales.
As a result, our residents were able to taste test some authentic Welsh cheeses, cockles, Welsh cakes, jam splits, and bara bread. The residents absolutely loved the food (as did the staff!), and we were all stuffed!
Our green-fingered residents arranged vases of daffodils to decorate Sonya Lodge and some of us even dressed up as daffodils too!
We then partied the afternoon away with Tom Jones’ greatest hits whilst waving our Welsh flags.
A great time was definitely had by all!
The yummy Welsh foods went down a treat!
