Person-centred trip to Bluewater
We try to ensure that everything we do here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home revolves around person-centred care, and this definitely includes activities, recreation and well-being.
One of our residents, Rosina, requested to go out for a trip to the cinema with a member of our staff, and we were very happy to oblige.
Rosina planned the trip with staff by deciding which cinema she would like to go to and then choosing what film she would like to see. Rosina chose to see the heart-warming and funny film “Mrs Harris Goes To Paris”.
We started our trip by arriving at Bluewater, where Rosina wanted to see the Christmas lights and decorations. We then headed in to the cinema and sat in our reclining seats (and had great fun playing with the buttons to put our legs up and down).
After the film, Rosina chose where she would like to go for dinner. We tucked in to a delicious pepperoni pizza from Bella Italia.
It was a lovely trip out that was filled with laughter, and it was wonderful to see the how much Rosina enjoyed herself.
