{"id":233888,"date":"2023-05-23T11:02:36","date_gmt":"2023-05-23T11:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sonya-lodge.nellsar.com\/?p=233888"},"modified":"2023-05-23T11:02:36","modified_gmt":"2023-05-23T11:02:36","slug":"sonya-lodge-residential-care-home-residents-celebrate-world-bee-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sonya-lodge.nellsar.com\/sonya-lodge-residential-care-home-residents-celebrate-world-bee-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home residents celebrate World Bee Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Saturday 20 May, we marked World Bee Day together here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>World Bee Day is observed on 20 May each year to draw attention to the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We asked our residents how they would like to celebrate this special day and they suggested making a <strong>Devonshire Honey Cake<\/strong> and enjoying some <strong>sweet but healthy treats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pauline is brilliant at making cakes<\/strong> so she got to work measuring out the ingredients and mixing them together. Once baked, she decorated the cake beautifully and then the best part happened&#8230;it was time to taste the honey cake! <em>It was delicious!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our ladies and gents had also requested some sweet but healthy treats. We obliged by providing them with <strong>fruit platters of apples, oranges, grapes, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and several varieties of melon<\/strong>.
