We are delighted to say that Deanne from our Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home Activities Team recently got married to her partner Paul and we were able to share in their special day.
The wedding took place at our local church St Michaels and All Angel (next to Sonya Lodge) on Saturday 3 September and all of our residents were invited to join in with the celebrations.
Many of our residents came out of the front of our Home, which we had decorated with rose gold balloons, to wave to Deanne as she made her way to the church in her wedding transport.
She arrived in a beautifully decorated retro VW camper van and rather than just driving past, the van stopped and Deanne got out in her stunning white wedding dress to say hello to all of our ladies and gents before continuing her journey on to the church.
Our residents then made their way back in to Sonya Lodge to watch the moving ceremony via Zoom on our televisions.
Four of our residents made the special trip to the church to watch the service in person from the front row!
Our residents loved seeing Deanne and Paul getting married and it was so special that we could all join them in celebrating this special day.
