Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home residents enjoy their local community

Church coffee morning

Our residents at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home really enjoy visiting our friends at St Michaels Church, so we try visit them at every chance we get.

Our weekly coffee stop provides us with the perfect opportunity. Our residents are welcomed every Tuesday with open arms to enjoy delicious homemade cakes and a cup of tea or coffee.

This is such a lovely treat for us all on a Tuesday morning; our residents have a good catch up and gossip with our friends from the church.

Trips to the pub and garden centre

Some of our ladies and gents took a trip to our local garden centre recently where they enjoyed looking at the beautiful plants and smelling all the different flowers and herbs on offer.

Afterwards, they visited the centre’s café for a delicious cake and hot drink. Our residents chose their favourite cakes from the selection on display and put in their orders. The cakes were amazing, and George was over the moon with his cappuccino cake (which is his favourite drink)!

Some of our other residents wanted to pay a visit to our local pub, The Plough, where they love going to choose a drink and some nibbles.

The pub staff and local residents were all so welcoming and it was lovely to see them again for chatter and giggles.

We are all looking forward to visiting again soon!
