Church service with John
Last week saw some of our Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home residents go out in our new minibus. Our residents love socialising and meeting new friends, and Angela and Pam had requested to see our Home Manager John preaching at his Methodist Church in Spital Street, Dartford.
John and his congregation welcomed Angela and Pam with open arms. After the service everyone was invited for refreshments and a chat, and our ladies were gifted with the flowers that had been displayed on the alter which was such a lovely gesture. We know they would like to go back soon.
Garden Centre trip
Our other trip out was to our local Garden Centre in Hawley. Our residents had great fun admiring, smelling and touching the flowers before deciding which ones they would like in their garden – such a lovely sensory activity for all to enjoy.
After working up an appetite in the fresh air, it was off to the café for a drink and slice of homemade cake. Don’t mind if we do!
