Pancake day arrived at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home and our residents got ready to mark the day in style!
Our ladies and gents love a competition and what better way to bring out their competitive streak on Pancake Day than to hold a pancake flipping contest?! This had our staff and residents howling with laughter as we all attempted to flip the pancakes rather than launching them across the room!
We discovered that some of our residents had an amazing talent when it came to pancake tossing. Our lovely Wendy was amazing at it, coming in 1st place by tossing the pancake successfully a miraculous 30 times! Angela came in 2nd place with nine flips, closely followed by Brian in 3rd place with seven. All of our residents who took part received a medal, which they were very proud of.
After all the fun and games, our Chef prepared some delicious pancakes for all of our residents to enjoy. There were a selection of toppings to choose from, including jam, chocolate spread, fruit, golden syrup, strawberry sauce, and the very traditional lemon juice and sugar.
Everybody loved this sweet treat and we’re sure we’ll have to have pancakes again before the next Pancake Day rolls around!
