Men’s Club
Each week we make some dedicated time for our gentlemen at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home to enjoy an activity together, which gives them some quality time together for male bonding.
This week some of our gents got to work building some miniature chairs. They supported each other with finding the right tools and shared their building tips and advice with each other. They all look very proud of their handiwork!
Magic water painting
Some of our residents enjoy taking part in creative pastimes and our magic water painting activity is a firm favourite for these artistic residents.
With ‘magic painting’, the beautiful pictures and colours appear by simply painting the sheets with water.
Many of our residents previously enjoyed painting as a pastime. However, over time they can find that this skill becomes more difficult and this adapted activity enables them to still enjoy this beloved hobby.
This magical activity brings our residents huge boosts of self-esteem and accomplishment as they manage to independently complete stunning paintings – so wonderful to see.
