Italian Day
It may have been the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this past weekend, but it was also Italian Day on Thursday 2nd June; we couldn’t miss this at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home as we have our very own ‘Italian Nina’!
We made the day all about Nina – our staff greeted her in Italian (which she found very comical!) and we filled the Lodge with Italian music, including all of Nina’s favourites, which we all sang along to.
We then prepared a special Italian menu for Nina to mark this special day. She enjoyed stone-baked margarita pizza, gnocchi with tomato and basil sauce, and a delicious creamy tiramisu – her favourites!

Geoff Jukes virtual party
We enjoyed another virtual party from the wonderful Geoff Jukes, who provided us with a performance of our residents’ favourite songs.
Our ladies and gents sang and danced along to the music and some even joined in with the melodic accompaniment by playing musical instruments.
A fabulous afternoon and we all thoroughly enjoyed the music and dancing.
