At at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home our residents love to have some fun and spend quality time with each other.
This week, we had a lovely treat for our residents of a virtual afternoon tea. Our residents loved the array of cakes, sweet treats and tea that was sent in to us to enjoy. Sonya Lodge was also filled with the melodic sounds of a live piano player over Zoom. We definitely all felt like we had been transported to a very special and plush location.
Some of our residents also showed off their competitive and silly sides in our marshmallow and chopstick game! Our ladies and gents raced to see who could pick up the most marshmallows with their chopsticks before the timer ran out. This caused lots of raucous laughter and even a little bit of cheating (but we won’t tell anyone).
Our residents also enjoyed some reminiscing sessions on InteractiveMe. It is truly wonderful to see their faces light up with astonishment and joy when we look through their treasured photos, listen to music from their past or watch some of their favourite films and TV programs from decades ago.
