Festive fun was in full swing here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home with our annual Elf Day. Our team members dressed up as Christmas elves for the day which caused much hilarity and giggles amongst our residents!
Our ladies and gents enjoyed a range of Christmas activities with Santa’s helpers, from Christmas movie picture bingo and festive singalongs to biscuit decorating. Everyone had smiles on their faces and loved getting involved in everything on offer.
Some of our residents also created a new game: ‘Elf-hunting‘ – they armed themselves with toy Nerf guns and took great delight in firing the foam darts at any of our team who had dressed up as elves. This caused many shrieks of laughter as the foam darts were launched around our Home, bouncing off the elves’ various body parts!!
We also received a very special Christmas surprise from our friends from the local community. Sharon and Freddie from our local church arrived with a huge hamper of goodies for our residents, which had been put together and donated by Wilmington Grammar School. We were truly touched by this generous gift. Thank you!
