Party time!
Our staff here at at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home really ‘pulled it out of the bag’ on Wednesday 11 August when we hosted a special Carnival day to mark the end of the six month long virtual cruise. The virtual travel adventure has been a big hit with our residents and we disembarked in style!
Around the World with Nellsar Cruises saw us ‘stop’ in Hong Kong, India, Spain, Italy France and the Caribbean. Our ‘return’ to England on Wednesday last week was the finale party!
We decorated the Home with colourful bunting, helium balloons and there was lots of dressing up! We had a clown entertain our residents, plus there was a raucous sing-along while we made character balloons for our residents.
No carnival is without a coconut shy, hook-a-duck, hoopla games any many more! We followed with a super delicious barbecue hosted by Chef Stephen and Janice, with an abundance of chocolate, candy floss and bags of sweets.
