Jewellery making
This week some of our residents at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home have turned their hand to jewellery making.
The group carefully selected different beads of all shapes and colours that they wanted to include in their jewellery designs. Then with lots of concentration, they threaded the beads to produce some beautifully colourful necklaces and bracelets. Absolutely lovely!
National Pizza Day
To celebrate this year’s National Pizza Day on Wednesday 9 February, our residents put their culinary skills to the test and spent an afternoon making pizzas together.
They selected their favourite toppings – including cheese, ham and mushrooms – and created some delicious masterpieces!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the Lodge was filled with laughter and delicious smells that made us all imagine we were visiting the best pizza restaurant in Italy!
Reminiscing
We all love looking back on old memories and comparing old stories, and for our residents this is an important, regular and favourite activity.
Our residents have recently enjoyed looking back at some old photos and news stories. This particular session sparked some wonderful chats and lots of giggles about some stories and tales that we shared.
Reminiscing can bring out so many emotive conversations; Keith’s overriding emotion when talking to us about airplanes was sheer joy!
