Biscuit decorating
Many of our residents at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home love to make sweet treats to enjoy together and biscuit decorating is a prime example of this.
Our residents worked together to ice and decorate biscuits using a variety of different coloured and shaped sprinkles. The biscuits looked amazing and tasted delicious!
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed decorating, but definitely enjoyed eating them even more!
Autumn wreath making
With the leaves turning to beautiful colours and falling from the trees, we knew it was time to create something from these beautiful natural resources.
Our residents collected twigs and leaves together from walking around our local environment, then put their creative talents to work to create an amazing autumn wreath.
We added some lavender and herbs to the wreath and our residents were so proud of their masterpiece and all took photos with it. Everyone loved the sensory aspects of making the wreath with its different textures and wonderful smells.
Halloween arts and crafts
For our Halloween party, our staff and residents got to work with some Halloween themed arts and crafts. Our ladies and gents really enjoy our creative activities and this was the perfect session for them to show off their artistic flair!
Some residents used colouring pens and pencils to colour in designs for our posters, while others were busy making some bunting. We decorated card pumpkins, ghosts and mummies with stickers, colouring pens, tissue paper, glitter and ribbons.
These were then attached to string to create our homemade bunting for the party.
