Festive activities
With Christmas round the corner, we are continuing with our many festive activities at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home. This week, our residents have been busy writing Christmas cards to their families, colouring in their favourite festive pictures, and creating Christmas decorations.
Trip to St Michael’s church
On Sunday 11 December, some of our residents, staff, and family members took a trip to our local church, St Michael’s, for their Family Christmas Carol Concert. We enjoyed musical performances from the children of local schools, and sung our hearts out to the Christmas carols. Our residents enjoyed listening to the Vicar Carl’s sermon which included pulling Christmas crackers with each other.
Before we left the carol concert we enjoyed delicious mince pies, chocolate cakes, orange juice, apple juice and mulled wine. We then wrapped ourselves up warm to make the journey back to The Lodge. We were all very surprised to find the snow had started to fall. This made our special evening even more magical and left us all feeling very festive.
