Craft card marking and colouring
In the lead up to Valentine’s Day our ladies and gents here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home got crafty making lovely Valentine’s Day cards; We used brightly coloured card and appliqué foam hearts and flowers. They looked wonderful – especially as they were handmade and handwritten for their loved ones. Amazing efforts from everyone!
Cuddles with Roxi
Roxi is never far away from the action at Sonya Lodge – she was on hand to dish out cosy cuddles throughout the week, much to our residents’ delight.
Music with singer Maxine
Maxine came to sing for us on Thursday 13 February where her powerful voice and upbeat tunes got us all on the dance floor for a boogie!
Flower arranging
We were very lucky to be given a large batch of fresh flowers from our local M&S Store on the morning of Valentine’s Day (14 February) – so it was all hands on deck to arrange these beauties into vases! Our home smelt glorious and filled our lounges, reception area and offices with an abundance of different flowers – arranged by our residents.
The day didn’t stop there – it was soon followed with sorting heart-shaped bunting and red heart balloons to set the theme of love.
Sonya Lodge staff, residents and their families enjoyed a tasty afternoon tea treat of fresh scones, prosecco jam and clotted cream.
