We love being creative at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home, and we’ve recently been busy with lots of lovely arts and crafts projects.
Knit and Natter
A firm favourite is our Knit and Natter group here at the Lodge. Our ladies are so talented with wool and it’s super to see them enjoying their get together over their knitting needles!
May Day flowers
For May Day we embraced all things floral! Some of our ladies created wonderful flower pictures using craft flowers and stickers, whilst our staff and residents looked beautiful in their sunflower headbands. What a splash of colour!
Bead crafts
We’ve also had a bead crafting session, when our ladies enjoyed threading colourful beads together to make some gorgeous necklaces and bracelets.
Seaside sensory
Our Recreation and Well-Being Champion Jo recently visited Minister Beach and created a sensory tray for everyone to enjoy, compiling oyster shells, pebbles, drift wood and sand. Our residents have really loved the mini seaside experience and feeling the different textures. Thanks Jo!
Card making
And our resident Jo recently made a very thoughtful get well card for her husband Ted, who also resides here at our Home. It was so lovely to see the attention and care she put into the card – such love between them.
