We spent most of the bank holiday Monday getting busy in our garden here at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home!
We had a bit of maintenance to do – weeding, deadheading and trimming – and did most of our planting last week.
The last thing on our list to do was create our herb garden. We planted mint, lemon balm, parsley and chives, putting them in their own pots with compost and then watering them. Last year, we used our herbs in cooking, so we’re hoping we can repeat that this year!
They were lovely and fragrant and we’re pleased that our garden is just about ready for the summer. Other than plants, we have some beautiful ornaments around, bird houses and wind-chimes. We’re looking forward to spending a lot of time outside enjoying it all – hopefully in the sunshine!
